The Art of Awakening: A Conversation with Anay Ngawang Chodak — Artist Interview by Elena Pakhoutova
Saturday, November 1, 3:00 – 6:00 PM
Anay Ngawang Chodak and Elena Pakhoutova, Senior Curator at the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art, led a conversation exploring how sacred Buddhist art forms and philosophies are reinterpreted for a modern audience. The discussion will highlight how Anay’s work conveys universal human values—such as compassion, interconnectedness, and inner wisdom through a contemporary visual language. Featuring a live performance by Grammy-nominated Tibetan musician Tenzin Choegyal, this inspiring afternoon celebrated the living heritage of Himalayan wisdom in today’s world.
